SUMMARY:Le CID à la Comedie Francaise
DESCRIPTION:The emblematic piece of French classical theatre\, ‘Le Cid’! \n\n\n\nThe return of Denis Podalydès to the staging with this mythical play. When the father of Chimène slaps Rodrigue’s father out of jealousy\, a deadly duel ensues. Corneille locks the lovers in an absolute dilemma\, to be discovered. \n\n\n\nRecognised as a genius of litterature\, Corneille was nonetheless accused\, at the first represntation of his play in 1637\, of not respecting the three-unit rule of time\, place and action. \n\n\n\nBenjamin Laverrnhe who amazed us all with his multiple talents when presenting the Césars this year will undoubtedly thrill us playing Don Rodrigue. \n\n\n\nMatinées certain days

SUMMARY:Roméo et Juliette Opera Bastille
DESCRIPTION:Brought by Shakespeare to the rank of myth\, the story of Romeo and Juliet had to wait until the 20th century before being incarnated in ballet thanks to the music of Sergueï Prokofiev\, in 1935. \n\n\n\nIn his production created for the Paris Opera Ballet in 1984\, Rudolf Noureev takes advantage of this brilliant and energetic score to propose a sumptuous version\, particularly cinematic. \n\n\n\nHis choreography focuses on showing the transformation of the young Romeo into a man thanks to a passionate Juliet who tragically enters adulthood. \n\n\n\nScenes of balls\, youthful provocations and duels in a beautifully reconstructed Italian Renaissance give substance\, relief and power to the passion of the lovers of Verona caught up with the ancestral hatreds of their families.

SUMMARY:The Great Gatsby by F.S. Fitzgerald
DESCRIPTION:“Native actors\,  fast-paced music\, visually evocative and highly theatrical performance” \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nPublished in 1925\, four years before the catastrophic collapse of the American stock markets\, Fitzgerald’s novel graphically portrays a society destroyed by money and dishonesty—an American Dream of happiness and individualism degenerating into the mere pursuit of wealth. Leo Benedict’s exciting new stage adaptation makes the contemporary relevance clear. This production recreates the glitz and decadence of the period\, filled with live and evocative jazz music from the twenties. The tense and absorbing drama is played out to its dramatic climax by a cast of five actors; the performance is fast-paced\, visually evocative and highly theatrical.  \n\n\n\nAdapted and directed by LEO BENEDICT Produced by GRANTLY MARSHALL\n\n\n\nADGE has been touring exciting and original stage productions throughout the world for 40 years. The company has gained a reputation for engaging and enthralling audiences young and old and we are delighted to have the opportunity of presenting this American classic.
