SUMMARY:Le Malade Imaginaire à La Comedie Francaise
DESCRIPTION:«Molière’s last piece begins in the hues of a finishing day. It is a crepuscular comedy tinged with bitterness and melancholy.” \n\n\n\nIt is with these words that Claude Stratz\, now deceased\, depicts Le Malade imaginaire which he staged in 2001\, and which\, played more than 500 times since then\, is one of those timeless shows visited by generations of comedians and actors from the Troupe. The refined staging restores the infinite palette of this comedy-ballet.February 10\, 1673\, Molière\, in the role of Argan\, creates his new work where it is question of a true or a false sick person\, of a true or a false doctor\, of a true or a false master of music\, of a true comedy but with dramatic accents. Seven days later\, while he was giving the fourth performance of the play\, the lung disease that he had just contracted forced him to stop and took him away a few hours later. Attempting from then on to see the shadow of the dying playwright hovering over the character of Argan\, who “in his own misfortune chooses to make us laugh\,” even if history teaches us that Molière was not suffering when he wrote his last play. If the charlatanism of doctors is a privileged theme of the author\, it is medical science itself that is attacked in this satirical farce\, coupled with a dark and lucid meditation on the fear of death. Victim of the intrigues of Lully\, in royal disgrace\, killed by the death of his son and his lifelong friend\, Madeleine Béjart\, Molière nevertheless delivers here one of his most brilliant comedies.

SUMMARY:Macbeth à Paris - An Open Air Show performed entirely in English
DESCRIPTION:“Native actors\,  original music with live vocals – a choreographed and evocative and theatrical performance” \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThis international production is a collaboration with TNT Theatre Britain and has enjoyed immense global success since 2001. This version stands out for its highly physical approach and a staging steeped in the world of witches. The show features an electronic score composed by Paul Flush\, complemented by live vocals and percussion\, offering a cinematic and intense audio-visual experience. At the intersection of musical theater and dance\, this production offers a powerful reflection on the thirst for power and morality in today’s world. \n\n\n\nThis show blends musical theater\, dance\, and visual imagery to create a dynamic version of *Macbeth* that is both original and faithful to Shakespeare’s spirit. With its original music\, it features live vocals and percussion on stage. This is a highly physical\, choreographed production that emphasizes the supernatural and delves into the heart of Shakespeare’s world.

SUMMARY:La Traviata à l'Opera de Paris
DESCRIPTION:Pleasure but not love: this is what the heroine of La Traviata quickly understands\, summoned by right-minded people to stay in her place. \n\n\n\nFor the director Simon Stone\, skilled in reinscribing the works in our daily life\, Violetta Valéry is not that courtesan who sells her body\, as in the time of Alexandre Dumas son\, whose novel La Dame aux camélias inspired the opera by Giuseppe Verdi. \n\n\n\nShe is a diva of social networks who sells her image through ‘selfies’ and ‘likes’. But this hyperconnected world does not prevent the beautiful\, as in the 19th century\, from having to sacrifice her love for Alfredo at the altar of morality. \n\n\n\nThis contemporary reading accords with the intentions of Verdi who\, while composing a feverish and virtuoso music\, criticizes the brutality of a society of appearance\, a machine to crush individualities. Especially when they are women who aspire to be free.

SUMMARY:Paper & Palette Society
DESCRIPTION:Have you artistic kids ? \n\n\n\n—— Check out this newly formed society —— \n\n\n\nPaper & Palette Society was born in Paris to give children a space to discover creative expression as a lifelong practice\, through the study of art and art journaling. \n\n\n\nIt is a yearlong Art and full English immersion program every Wednesday\, designed to build each child’s confidence in expressing themselves — out loud and on the page.  Let playful imagination and creativity grow while building the kids’ confidence in speaking and writing in English. Kids learn best when busy creating and having fun.  \n\n\n\nThe program is made for kids age 8-12 with an Anglophone background. Our group is limited to 6-8 kids so that each child gets our full attention.  Each term builds on the other and at the end of the year\, we will hold an Artist Show where each child will get to talk about their art and the process behind the artwork. \n\n\n\nRegistrations are open for the school year 2026-2027 and the autumn term begins on September 16. For more details\, please head on to the website: https://paperpalettesociety.com/ \n\n\n\nClasses are every Wednesday from 2PM-4PM at the Scots Kirk Church (17 rue Bayard\, 75008).  It runs the whole year except during the school holidays.   \n\n\n\nProgram fees are 300 euros per term plus a one-time membership fee of 35 euros. The full year is 825 euros and can be paid in 3 increments of 275 euros at the beginning of each term.   \n\n\n\nhttps://paperpalettesociety.com/about-paper–palette-society

SUMMARY:Cézanne et Nous - Musée d'Orsay Paris
DESCRIPTION:The exhibition aims to present broadly the work of Paul Cezanne (1839-1906) in light of his artistic heritage\, in a constant dialogue\, synthetic and unprecedented. It bears witness to the artist’s unparalleled posterity\, from the moment when\, as a recluse in Aix\, some wonder whether there really exists\, to the “Cezanne myth” of the 20th century\, the founding father of pictorial modernity.
