Eamon is an experiened music player and will enchant us with Irish and Greek bouzoukis melodies. This famous Greek instrument with it’s ethereal sound sits very well musically with the Uilleann Pipes and provides chordal accompaniment. \n\n\n\nCome learn\, listen and watch talented musicians perform on famous Irish instruments in the Chapel at the Irish Cultural Centre in Paris. Mark will talk about the history of the Uilleann Pipes\, his music and his instrument making journey as he is a qualified Uilleann Pipes craftsman. \n\n\n\nUilleann Piping has been inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. DESCRIPTION:Meeting point: We will meet at Gare de Lyon from 7:45 to take the Transilien line R to Montargis at 8:16 am. \n\n\n\nWhat you will see: During the day\, we intend to walk around the forest for around 20 km!  During the hike\, you will see the Tour Denecourt\, the fort of the Emperor\, an observatory tower with a fabulous view over the Fontainbleau forest. \n\n\n\nYou will also see the Grotte d’Adam-Salomon\, a small cave in the woods with engravings in hommage to the French sculptor from the 19th century\, Samuel Adam-Salomon\, who spent most of his life in Fontainbleau. DESCRIPTION:Music and performance by June McGrane and Macdara Smith\, with Still Underpressure\n\n\n\n  Wear your most horrific costume\, embrace your dark side and immerse yourself in the spirit of the evening. \n\n\n\n  This unique ensemble has prepared a humorous extravaganza to culminate our Samhain celebrations in terrifying style! A kaleidoscope of music\, pranks\, stories\, satire\, images\, festive horror and rituals to celebrate Samhain. \n\n\n\n\n\nSAMHAIN Spirits and Souls celebrates the ancestral Irish tradition of the autumn equinox. Belonging neither to the year which ends nor to the one which begins\, Oíche Shamhna is the night when the boundary between this world and the Otherworld fades. Portals open\, allowing souls of the dead and beings from both divides to wander. As the veil between the living and the dead comes down\, so too the curtain between this 13th century Irish Pagan festival and ‘Hollywood Hallowe’en’ rises allowing these contrasting realms to beguile\, taunt and dance together in delightful and wicked ways. Masked\, unmasked\, transformed and disguised; seeping out from behind culinary recipes for Samhain and the home-made versus factory-made debate\, come tales of persecution. We listen to women’s voices from the other side and in the shadows of their words we hear the whispers of the living and the dead\, of angels\, witches\, mothers\, daughters\, judges\, saints\, persecutors\, providers\, punishers\, priests\, witnesses\, murderers\, moralists\, lovers\, sinners\, non-believers\, condemners and executioners throughout the ages.
