Portals open\, allowing souls of the dead and beings from both divides to wander. As the veil between the living and the dead comes down\, so too the curtain between this 13th century Irish Pagan festival and ‘Hollywood Hallowe’en’ rises allowing these contrasting realms to beguile\, taunt and dance together in delightful and wicked ways. Ciara Maguire (fiddle) will be accompanied by multi-instrumentalist Oisín McCann (guitar\, flute\, whistle). DESCRIPTION:Light installation on view from 29 January to 14 February\n\n\n\n\n\nTo honor Saint Brigid and celebrate “Imbolg”\, the traditional beginning of spring in the Celtic calendar\, when pagan festival marks the return of light\, the awakening of nature\, and as such is a symbol of renewal. \n\n\n\nThe highlight of the evening: artist Tom Meskell\, currently in residence\, will present his light installation “Silva Lumina”\, commissioned by First Fortnight – Mental Health\, Arts & Culture Festival. At nightfall\, from January 29 to February 14\, the CCI courtyard will be transformed into an enchanting garden\, populated by creatures in human and plant form\, and enhanced by a soundtrack composed by Colm O Snodaigh and Brian Hogan\, both members of the famous traditional world band Kíla.  \n\n\n\nCome and wander through this sculpture-lit forest\, embodying the hope and community spirit so dear to the festival! \n\n\n\nDrinks and foodtruck in the courtyard

SUMMARY:Max Kennedy "The Moment" Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Delighted to promote this young photographer presenting his work in Paris.  \n\n\n\nMax Kennedy\, born in 1992 is based in London and son of the writer Douglas Kennedy. He graduated from the Fine Arts College of America\, Ringling College\, in Florida. He then completed the postgraduate programme at Goldsmiths University in London. \n\n\n\nHis work has appeared in publications as diverse as Le Figaro Magazine and Le Journal du Dimanche. Passionate about all forms of cultural activity\, he has worked for the London Symphony Orchestra and several arts groups. He is also an accomplished portrait photographer. \n\n\n\nBut one of his main interests is what he calls ‘the street view’: capturing the complexities and contradictions of contemporary life. \n\n\n\nCome and see this exhibition\, ‘The Moment’\, which examines individuals in contemporary urban environments: London\, Paris\, Berlin. \n\n\n\nSpeaking about his case\, Max notes ‘Autism can be a lonely place’ ‘As such\, I am fascinated by (and empathise with) the loneliness of individuals in a metropolitan landscape. There’s so much going on at any given time in a city…\, with the expectation of constant professional and personal connection. But in the midst of all this activity and bustle\, there’s also a lot of disconnection and loneliness’.

DESCRIPTION:A unique blend of Literature\, Comedy and Music at the Irish Cultural Centre in Paris\n\n\n\n\n\nThis special evening blends words and music. Two of the artists are in residence at the Irish Cultural Centre. The singer Farah Elle and the slam poet Stephen James Smith\, will be joined by the comedian Áine Gallagher.  \n\n\n\nKnown as the “queen of the offbeat\,” Áine Gallagher is an award-winning comedian who is fast becoming one of Ireland’s most original comic acts. Deeply defined by her Libyan roots\, singer-songwriter Farah Elle will share with us her very own songs for piano as well as intimate selections from her debut album\, Fatima (2022). Her music enchantingly weaves together pop\, touches of R’n’B and jazz and Middle Eastern music. And\, Stephen James Smith will recite his critically acclaimed poems including some written during his stay in Paris.

DESCRIPTION:For all ye Mnà Bowie fans!! \n\n\n\nMR8 gallery presents“David Bowie: Mr Jones’ Long Hair\,” an exhibition curated by David Lawrence in collaboration with renowned photographers\, Philippe Auliac\, Michel Haddi\, and Denis O’Regan. The exhibition offers a unique lens on David Bowie—not only as a musician and actor but also as a multifaceted individual shaped by a wide spectrum of cultural influences. \n\n\n\nVisitors will explore the artistic and intellectual forces that played a role in shaping Bowie’s creative universe\, including figures from literature\, music\, and visual art—ranging from Frank Sinatra and Jean Cocteau to Andy Warhol\, Miles Davis\, Salvador Dalí\, and Friedrich Nietzsche. \n\n\n\nThe exhibition features approximately 100 photographs\, including rare and previously unseen images\, accompanied by commentary from Bowie’s half-brother. The experience is enriched by a curated playlist of tracks Bowie admired\, and a behind-the-scenes film by Michel Haddi documenting one of their photo sessions.
