Ardkeen Quality Food Store is an independent food retailer based in Waterford City. The business was founded by Robert and Pamela Jephson in 1967 as a small grocery store with petrol pumps out the front, then serving a largely rural community that was only beginning to become suburban.

The business has grown and changed with the community over the years and is now run by Robert & Pamela’s three sons, Colin, Kevin & Gerald.  Core to our business are strong relationships with customers, suppliers and staff. These relationships have enabled us to source better foods from smaller suppliers, remain competitive and deliver great customer service, we also have fantastic customers who value food quality and provenance. These key points of difference have enabled Ardkeen to thrive in a market dominated by international brands.

Our eCommerce store ardkeen.com has further strengthened our reputation as specialists in Ireland’s artisan and locally produced food, with over 1000 items for sale, and delivering worldwide!
