A real plea for social justice, the work is carried out by a troupe that rediscovers the great tunes of this musical that was conceived like an opera:
To better serve Victor Hugo’s masterpiece, Alain Boublil has corrected, adapted and modified the libretto, while Claude-Michel Schönberg has reworked the score. And to magnify this new production in french of Les Misérables, Ladislas Chollat has chosen a refined staging, without embellishment, in order to leave the story it’s place, the text and its interpretation.
The success has been confirmed, both with the public and critics, since Les Misérables have once again obtained new awards, including a Molière amongst others. Inscribed in the musical heritage, and because “nothing is more beautiful than to be a prophet in one’s country”, the work returns on the stage of the Théâtre du Châtelet. To the will of the people!
