Writer’s Retreat in Paris offering a mix of teaching, mentoring and practical industry advice.
Emma Claire Sweeney, hails from Tipperary (Ireland), is an award winning author and a co-director of the Ruppin Agency Writers’ Studio, which offers literary mentoring programmes and writing retreats in France, North Wales and beyond. Emma is also a Senior Lecturer in creative writing at the Open University and her novel, Owl Song at Dawn, won Nudge Book of the Year. She has won Society of Authors, Arts Council and Royal Literary Fund awards, and has written for The Paris Review, TIME, and The Washington Post.
As a creative writing teacher of many years, Emma is very experienced in identifying what individual writers need to do to progress. Emma runs the Paris retreat with her husband, Jonathan Ruppin, an editor and former agent. Each retreat features a Magical History Tours optional literary excursion led by Saara Marchadour of the Irish Embassy.
