It’s a Book Event with a difference! A reading, an interview, a conversation & much more with YOU attending and participating!
The Book: Thirty Years of Change Through Women’s Eyes: Ireland, 1993-2023
The Author: Íde B. O’Carroll, is an Irish-born researcher and author who has worked for many years on social change issues in Ireland, Europe and America. She has been affiliated with Women’s Studies, Trinity College Dublin, Ireland House, New York University, Public Policy and Sociology at University of Massachusetts-Amherst. She lives in Amherst, Massachusetts, USA.
The Interviewer: MarieAnn Mc Loughlin Dwyer, Co Founder/Investor/Editor from Dublin.
This conversation will provide us with fascinating insights into the extraordinary changes which have occurred for women in Ireland in the last thirty years. The diverse women featured had to struggle to find their place in a changing society. The dialogue, in their words, will tell us about the journeys these women took and the challenges they faced. This book has taken its place among Ireland’s most impactful feminist publications.
We also invite Mná members and authors to participate in a Writing Competition and/or to bring their published works to discover their books and sign personal copies at this Event. Please reach out view email for submissions or question to contact@mnanaheireann.com
The submissions can be as Poetry (one page) or a Short story (500-1000 words) with Women and Immigration as the topic – deadline is 15/7/26 to send to above email address.
The Event: After the Book reading and interview, we will have a Potluck Picnic in the courtyard. Please feel free to bring something to eat and drink with you to enjoy and share.
