St. Patrick’s Concert : Traditional Irish Music – Sorcha Costello & the Hylia sisters

A St Patrick’s celebration concert organised by the Association Irlandaise and presenting a wonderful Franco-Irish lineup featuring an all-female cast, with Irish violinist Sorcha Costello 🎻 and opening act by the duo Hylia, sisters Roxanne and Marie Rabatti (violin, guitar, vocals).

Winner of the prestigious Gradam Ceoil TG4 Young Musician of 2021 award, Sorcha Costello is an Irish violinist from Tulla (Co. Clare), born into a family with deep roots in traditional music. Sorcha has performed on stages across Ireland and internationally, with tours in New Zealand, Australia, and the United States. Highly sought after as a music teacher, she is appreciated for her ability to convey her unique style, imbued with the rhythm and swing characteristic of several generations of her family.

Released in 2023, “𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝘀𝘀” Sorcha’s solo album features a varied repertoire of old and new pieces. Deeply rooted in the East Clare style tradition, this album incorporates musical influences from around the world.
